Work Experience

Volunteers will serve 40 hours a week at their placement site. This full-time service takes many forms depending on the placement site and the position description. Regardless of where a volunteer is placed, they will get the opportunity to work a full-time job and learn about the community in which they serve. Volunteers have used this experience to help them find jobs when they complete the program, go on to do another service program year, and attend graduate studies among other things. The experience of an LSC volunteer’s year can also help people determine what types of volunteer work, simplicity practices, and spiritual practices they will use in their own lives going forward. It is an unforgettable and life changing experience.
